Massage Therapy, MM 19767

Therapeutic massage is used to promote healing, reduce pain and muscle spasms, release tension and stress.

An increasing number of research studies show massage reduces heart rate, lowers blood pressure, increases blood circulation and lymph flow, relaxes muscles, improves range of motion, and increases endorphins (enhancing medical treatment). Although therapeutic massage does not increase muscle strength, it can stimulate weak, inactive muscles and, thus, partially compensate for the lack of exercise and inactivity resulting from illness or injury. It also can hasten and lead to a more complete recovery from exercise or injury.

It is also important to note that most insurances will pay for massage therapy. To find out if your does, please call to have one of our staff verify your coverage.

Lisa Baron, LMT, MA 14043, represents our clinic as the Licensed Massage Therapist. Lisa has worked closely with Dr. Lane for the last 3 years. She has over 20 years experience is very knowledgable with acute and chronic injuries and how massage therapy may help them. Here is a little more information about Lisa and how she found her way to our office.

Hi my name is Lisa Baron and I am a native of Hollywood, Florida.  After visiting the Tampa area several times, I found myself falling in love with Tampa and finally moved here in 2009 and have never been happier.  Tampa and her neighboring cities had everything I love, good people, a calmer pace then south Florida, and an abundance of nature for kayaking, hiking, camping and bicycling.

My life as a licensed massage therapist came to be from my own suffering, you see, I was a bit of an active kid, grew up dancing ( ballet, tap, jazz and acrobats ) nearly everyday since my mom was a professional dance teacher in south Florida.  Her dance academy  was my second home, I am very blessed to have had the luck of free classes throughout my youth.  I was also blessed with a young horse when I was 10, so if I wasn’t dancing, riding “ or falling off of ” my horse, I was running track in high school.  By the time I was 19, I was in a Chiropractor’s office to relieve my pain, I loved it so much that by the age of 27, I had become a Chiropractic assistant.  After treating me for awhile the doctor recommended I get some therapeutic massage to assist in the corrective work that he was doing for my back and neck pain, so I listened to his advice and went.  It was a match made in heaven, massage and chiropractic care made such a difference in my life that I wanted to pursue it further to make a difference in other people’s lives.

So I graduated from Florida College of Natural Healing in 1992, continued my post graduate studies in neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, and cranial neurovascular reflex points.  I worked my first 10 years in Hallandale at the Regency Health Spa where I learned a lot about nutrition and detoxifying the body as this was their specialty.  During these years I also began learning about strength training and cardiovascular exercise.  I had the good fortune of having some of the top fitness trainers and nutritionists for dear friends who were eager to teach me while on my path to better health.  I then spent the next 8 years of massage therapy in private practice before moving to Tampa.  Since I had missed working in a more therapeutic environment, when I made the move to Tampa I decided to return to my first love, a Chiropractor’s office.   When Dr. Lane’s office decided to take me on, I had no idea that I would not only work with such an awesome staff but also a gifted doctor who truly had his patients best interest at heart.  So now Tampa is home!
